There are at least two ways:
1) One can keep an unlimited number of notes using the communications journal on the Contact form. Although this requires an associated contact record this method allows you to create a follow-up task in your Microsoft Outlook calendar. If you select this contact from the <Bill To> contact drop list below the <Bill To> address information on the customer form, this information will also be shown on the <Communications> tab on the customer form.
2) Use Note Pad, Word Pad, or any other word processor to create the document and then create a link to that document on the Customer form's Links subform. After the document is created, save it to a folder such as My Documents or on a network server. On the customer form, click the <Links> tab, enter a brief description, and right-click the URLink control. After you select <Hyperlink>, click the <Browse for File> button. Navigate to the file you created and double-click it. You can edit the <Text to display>. If the file has been stored on a network resource, navigate to the file via <Network Neighborhood> so that the link will be the same for all network users.
